How many drinking water stations should we have for the number of students enrolled?

This is a common question asked of us by the hundreds of schools we work with every year in Australia.

While there are no set guidelines for drinking water stations in Australia, the International Plumbing Code recommends that one drinking station for every 100 students, but some schools find that this recommendation isn’t enough. Many schools find that after sport, lunch, and outdoor learning activities bottlenecks occur at the drinking water stations impacting time spent in class.
